RunScribe Shoe Prints
Our Shoe Print visualizations provide an alternative to pressure sensing insoles. Using data from the RunScribe IMU pods, we’re able to build a virtual map to allow you to quickly assess footstrike and toeoff!
As a progression to the Shoe Print framework that we launched early last year, I’m excited to announce our new Shoe Ride visualizations! Where Shoe Prints allowed you to see the initial and final contact points, our Shoe Rides now show the entire ground contact progression, from foot strike to toe off and all points in-between. We capture the stance progression velocity as the ‘Ride’ has been shown to be correlated with how well that shoe is working with the particular biomechanics of the runner.

I’m incredibly excited to add this new sensor location, and new metrics to the platform, enabling gait professionals like yourselves to even better identify and understand asymmetry and underlying movement issues. I’ll be updating runscribe.com in the coming weeks with additional examples of the hip sensor in action, but here are some of the new metrics and sample visualizations of what you’ll see (along with your existing footpod data) in the RunScribe Dashboard. As with the existing footpods, I will continue to add additional metrics and data visualization – this is just the beginning!
